Total Adventure Bike Hire is a busy cycle hire company based in Windermere.
We are looking for a confident, motivated and responsible person to join our friendly, hardworking team. If you enjoy building bikes, fixing bikes, riding bikes, talking bikes and providing great customer service, then you could be the person we need!
In return we offer a great job working with good people and in the perfect environment to enjoy getting out and exploring on two wheels when the day’s work is done.
About the role
The role involves assisting the existing team in organising and maintaining a fleet in excess of 100 bikes, both electric and conventional, across two locations, and taking pride in ensuring we offer a well-maintained product delivered through safe customer experience.
We also expect all staff to be engaging with our customers for both rentals and retail purchases. So, in addition to the mechanical aspect of the role, you may sometimes find yourself selling a bike, or advising on accessories, and next you could be assisting hire clients with sizing, safety briefings, providing route information and generally ensuring that our customers have a great experience with us from start to finish.
There will be a daily element of the role that will be office based, helping with emails, information on the website, and communicating with customers and suppliers. At times there will be merchandising and shop/stock related aspects to your day as well.
This is a seasonal role although there could be scope to extend the contract, or even make it a permanent position. We may also have apprenticeship opportunities specific to the bicycle industry for the right candidate.
About you

A commitment to delivering great customer experience through both your manner and your actions is essential.
Previous bike shop experience, in both workshop and customer facing position is essential. Ideally you will hold a Cytech L2 qualification, or have equivalent and relevant mechanical experience that you are able to demonstrate. Knowledge of current electric bike systems, particularly Bosch and Shimano is also beneficial.
